With 4th of July comes a lot of great activities, from riding in parades to attending the local rodeo.
One thing I’ve always learned with new events in new places, is to always be early and plan ahead, and to mentally stay calm and cool as if you’ve always done these events before.
This week we attended a parade in Grass Valley, California with the Gold Country Trail Council. Afterwards we loaded up our horses and headed to the Folsom Rodeo. At the rodeo our horses were introduced to an extremely large crowd, bucking shoots, fireworks, teams of draft horses pulling wagons, the Painted Ladies Drill Team riding around with flags, and of course the dirt bikes for the Motocross events.
All our horses that we attended with were calm and relaxed with their riders because their foundation was set for success for that type of atmosphere.
